The copy lead found my profile on LinkedIn, thought I would be a good candidate and reached out. We spoke on the phone about expectations (bilingual copy editor, daytime) and pay. When I told the copy lead my rate, he went back to his boss and told me to take a bilingual test.
I took the test and aced it. They had me on a couple more calls then invited me to interview in person.
When I arrived in person, it seemed the role had changed. Now instead of a bilingual copy editor, they were looking for an English copy editor who would work nightshifts. I said I was not open to working a full nightshift but could do the occasional one-off, and they invited me to join the team.
Then they said my salary requirements were way too high for their budget! Fusion made me spend time on tests, phone calls and an in-person interview, when I had cleared my rate with them before ending the first phone call we were on.
I'm really disappointed in this waste of time.
