I applied online. I interviewed at GEICO (Cleveland, OH) in Oct 2016
Interview
There were 3 steps in my interview experience.
1. Phone Interview
2. Lengthy in Person interview and role play
3. Another in person interview with a regional manager
The interviews themselves went fine, but scheduling was so poorly handled that I ended up turning down the job. Every time they scheduled an interview it would be rescheduled a day or so later ("We forgot that we have a meeting on the other side of the state" "We didn't realize that we had another appointment that morning").
After the third interview I was told to callback if I hadn't heard anything in a week. So I call back to get a voicemail stating that this particular manager was out of the office for a week while attending training. So I left him a voicemail, and never got a callback... So I moved on and put the whole thing out of my mind.
Skip forward a couple weeks and I get a phone call from the area manager offering me the position, 3 days before the training is set to start, hundreds of miles away in Chicago.
Long story short.
The whole process was so poorly handled that I turned down a job making significantly more money. Unless there was some major change, I don't think I would consider working for Geico again.

Question 1
Explain a time you dealt with a difficult customer, and what you did to handle the situation.
Good experience with this company and interview process. They asked questions pertaining to past job experience and questions regarding the job itself. The recruiter was nice and friendly, as well.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult customer
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at GEICO (Dallas, TX) in Jul 2025
Interview
applied and was asked to do a assessment which was pretty straightforward. Then did a 20 min zoon interview with a recruiter. They explained a little about the job, salary, training and that I would be invited for a 2nd interview with the leadership team. A little strange interview also, they didn't really ask any questions about myself, just asked how many times I've shown up late for work in my past job and why I had a gap in my employment. A few days later I got a automated email that the job had been filled already. Seems just because you are told you made it to the 2nd and final round doesn't mean you will. They seem to hire first come first serve.

Interview
I did a zoom interview, which wasn’t the issue. The issue was I felt like there were no questions asked linked directly to the job I was applying for. I’m use to more behavioral based questions and they asked a lot of random filler questions, had me guessing why are they even interviewing me??

Question 1
Employment gap history… which I thought was illegal
