I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Garmin (Olathe, KS) in Apr 2019
Interview
I applied for one position and was asked to rate my skills for another position's Job Description which has very different skill set but related titles. I understand that they would want to understand your level of expertise but if I'm interested with that position which requires Java i would have applied to it. This position clearly stated different skill set.
The interviewer doesn't want me from the beginning i can say it with the tone of her voice she want to get it done asap. she wouldn't even let me finish my answer and asks the same behavior questions again and again. For example 1. what kind of qualities you look in a team members? and same question after couple of questions.
she reads out the job description ( the other position i haven't applied) line by line asking me to rate my skill it's so absurd to hear. Any one can ask rate your skill on SQL but she asks me to rate my skill on a sentence written as responsibility of a job.
She ended the interview in half the time and didn't bother to ask me if i have any question even though i asked and she answered with a single word.
She just wanted to finish the interview from the beginning and clearly expressed rudeness in her tone. she doesn't let me finish my answer and jumps to next question .
Overall a very unpleasant experience and they sure don't want to recruit unless you are a white male.
This was a rapid career fair on-site, which was the first one they did. I interviewed for multiple positions. Most were higher positions that I was qualified for. I was hoping for a rotational position because I was trying to figure out what I liked.
I applied through university. I interviewed at Garmin
Interview
Short simple video conference call chat. Began by applying through my university recruiting program at a job fair session. I simply uploaded a resume and got a run down on job listings, etc from the recruiter.
