Applied via college career site. Had a phone interview with the hiring manager; very relaxed, mostly informational. He talked about their products then went on to describe the developer role. I honestly disclosed hat I had not considered a job in their specialty until very recently and that I did not have a lot of experience in their segment. He suggested a three month trial period with reduced salary. I said I would consider it and got invited for a 1:1 for a few days later. I had two half hour interviews with the two most senior developers. Borderline non-technical interviews, both. Got asked to code some trivial functions in C. They were looking for the ability to comply with a very specific coding standard and a solid debugging philosophy. Got an offer for a full time position within one day.
