Was connected to Genesis Global Trading through a 3rd party recruiter (Worthy Works) and the first step was a coding project where I was assigned the task of developing a CSV parser that would take in a CSV file and display the contents in a user interface. Several features were requested (sorting, filtering, etc.) and they were pretty lenient with the timeline.
However when I sent it in, they told the 3rd party recruiter to tell me “it’s very good” but I had to fix one function in my code. So I fixed the issue that night and sent it right back.
The “feedback” I received a day later was that it was not “up to their standards” however their standards were never outlined to me.
Why would I be told it was “very good” in one breath and then told it’s “not up to standards” in the next breath?
Seems sketchy and all I can assume is that they wanted some poor soul looking for a job to do some BS work for them so they didn’t have to waste any of their employees time (money) doing the BS work.
