I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at GitHub (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2015
Interview
I worked with a recruiting agency that specializes in tech startups. I had two 30 minute phone interviews, then an onsite interview which consisted of four separate interviews which were 45 minutes each. Two of the onsite interviews were with two people, so I met a total of six employees and two more over the phone. The onsite was intimidating and challenging, but gave me a really good idea of the company culture.

The interview process was very smooth. Everything's very structured and I liked a lot that they have a very thorough process to assess if the candidate is a good cultural fit.

Interview
First, I applied through LinkedIn, then I had a screening call with an internal recruiter. Next round, was invited into their SF office where I had a series of 4-5 different individual interviews with various members of the team. Shortly fter that, I accepted a role at a separate company, so I can't speak to the process that follows.
