The interview process took over two months, with long stretches of silence between rounds and poor communication from the recruiter. While I was excited about the role and the team seemed strong, the logistics made the process frustrating and discouraging. I often had to follow up multiple times just to get an update. The delays between steps weren’t explained, and there was no consistent feedback or clarity on what came next. At one point I went weeks without hearing anything after completing a round. For a company of GitHub’s scale, I expected a more respectful and transparent candidate experience. Everyone I spoke to was smart and kind, but the recruiting coordination felt disorganized and unprioritized.
