It's a 3 part process.
1. Phone Screen - Few questions asked and then you are scheduled for a interview. What isn't explained is that it's a presentation, to sell you on the position.
2. Group Face to Face - You arrive to see the lobby is full of people. You sit with the hiring manager for about 2 minutes and then your give a paper personality test that I'm sure they aren't reading because their is about 20-25 other people there with you. After a short introduction you moved into a room and shown a presentation that you can't really follow closely enough to take notes and understand what you getting into. After the slide you, you are given heart felt stories about people who changed for a job to a career. Not saying that people don't like their jobs with the company, but you are seeing how effective their training is on how to sell the product. They review how much money you will need to bring the next day, and be ready to start your new career. You are told to review this great opportunity with your support system. Though you don't have much information to review, except all the good things you that were shared with you verbally and aren't able to have any paper copies of the information. You are told that they will call back their top candidates for final interview. (For me that was about 10 to 15 minutes after leaving.)
3. One on One Face to Face - They review the opportunity allow you to put your hand on the paper work and understand how you're paid. How bonuses work. That you are going to be a 1099 employee (Contractor - Not employed by the company, but given the authority to sell their product, and you don't have benefits. This was odd because it's and insurance company.) This is when you get a complete understanding that you are 100% commission and you aren't a manager, you an entry level agent. (Not bad thing but you're under false pretenses which is frustrating.) The last thing that is mentioned, only if you ask, is that you aren't paid while in training. Your training can last about 3 to 4 weeks. When you get this understanding and ask to think about it and I mean for like 15 - 20 minutes to share an actual understanding with you spouse. You are kind of pressured harder to make your payment to get licensed.
If you aren't ready to commit, you're swept out the office pretty quickly and their paper work is collect back from you. It's almost as if they don't want it to leave the office.
I only put 1 questions in, because if you Google this; "Generic Personality Questionnaire" you will see pretty much the questions you are asked. Because they probably don't read it, you can almost say anything.
