Other Junior Backend Engineer interview reviews for Glovo
The process was very straightforward and the interviewers were extremely friendly! I have never before had such a laid-back, comfortable atmosphere in a technical interview. I highly recommend to anyone interested in applying.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Glovo (Barcelona) in Sept 2021
Interview
I applied to the role and a recruiter contacted me after a week to schedule an interview.
The first interview was with the technical recruiter (30-45 mins.)
He introduced the company and what they do. Then asked me to introduce myself and about my professional experience. Then we proceeded to talk about some topics:
- SQL/NOSQL
- Monolithic Architecture Vs Microservices Architecture
- SOLID principles
- TDD (Test Driven Development)
- Etc.
Finally, I was asked why I wanted to join Glovo.
I passed to the next round even though I wasn't familiar with some of the previously mentioned topics.
The second interview was the Live Coding Interview (90 mins.)
The programming language to use was optional. They required you to have an empty project previously generated with its own environment for running the tests.
I was asked 3 different coding questions:
1 - First non repeated character in a string
2 - Balanced brackets (given a string formed only by '(',')','[',']','{','}' determine if the string is well formed)
3 - Write an algorithm that given a Binary Tree, generates the mirror tree.
For each of these problems, they required me to write the code, some unit tests for testing that the code works and finally explain what time and space complexity have my solution.
The 3th interview was for the coding interview feedback (15 mins.)
They told me that the feedback was positive and that I would be heading to the final rounds of the interview process.
The 4th interview was Application Arquitecture Design (90 mins.)
I was asked to design a chat application (like Whatsapp) from a set of requirements. The design was on a whiteboard and I had to do UML-like diagrams (but not necessary UML). I was also asked some questions about how an API works and to design some endpoints for the the designed application.
The 5th round was the Behavioural Interview (60 mins.)
The first half of the interview was about some technical questions and about my previous jobs (experience). The other half was about behavioural questions and culture fit questions.
I didn't get an offer, but they were very kind because they told me why I wasn't continuing with the interview process (I made some critical mistakes in the Application Architecture Design interview).
The whole process took an entire month.
