I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at GoTo (Bengaluru) in Oct 2021
Interview
It was a good process overall, but unfortunately, I didn’t receive an offer. I made it to the final round, but it didn’t work out in the end.
Overall clean process

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at GoTo
Interview
Unfortunately we did not get to the interview. They contacted me but didn't reply to my email after I made a change in the wage demand. I am not sympathetic to this corporate attitude.

Interview
The interview process was really the worst I've done in my life (and not because it was difficult or complex).
The two devops team members that started off the 1st hour interview (the team lead and another devops) were extremely unprepared to do the interview process. Here is a list of things they did:
- They kept writing each other and laughing in the background for things I would give as an answer and would let me talk or stay in silence during 10-20s intervals to keep chatting.
- They didn't collaborate at all in clarifying question interviews or being precise about the scope of a question. For instance, they asked about a design question and when I asked them back "do you think what I am saying makes sense or would you recommend me to think in another way?" and the lead simply answered me "It's up to you to decide things, we face this kind of problem every day, you have to be able to deal with it independently."
I believe that this tells a lot about the culture and what you are going to face if you interview for a devops position in Montreal/Quebec.

Question 1
They asked questions about my past jobs. They really focused on DB questions (despite the fact I said I wasn't really looking for a DB-focused DevOps role)
They asked a few architectural and design problems.
They touched the surface of docker and kubernetes
