Had phone screening and was asked about my compensation range. I provided a range that was within the range that was posted for that specific job posting. HR screener corrected me that that range was not correct and about 10-20% less than what was advertised. I find this to be dishonest and fraudulent since they have advertised/reported it as higher than what they actually pay. I would never work for a company that is already dishonest from the start at the HR screening. It's understood that certain states have to post their salary range but apparently it doesn't have to be the true range? This company should not be allowed to get away with this and I believe this to be an illegal practice.
