I completed five rounds of interviews for an individual contributor role, in my opinion this is excessive for an individual contributor role and required a significant amount of time and preparation.
After learning that I was not selected, I requested feedback from the recruiter but did not receive a response. From a candidate’s perspective, timely communication and feedback are invaluable and demonstrate respect for the effort the time invested.
Outside of that, all questions were STAR format questions. While I appreciate the value of structured interviews, incorporating more conversational elements could allow candidates to showcase their skills and fit in a more authentic way.
