I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Graham Packaging (Columbus, OH) in Jun 2023
Interview
It would have been fine if they had not changed the role title in the middle of the interview process, rejected me due to lack of experience for the new role (which I was fine with), brought me back into consideration because they decided they actually liked me better over the other candidates, and then reject me again for the same reason. This was over the course of 6 interviews, 4 initially and then 2 more and also it took a month and a half in total. They clearly need to decide what it is they want before they go ahead and start interviewing people so that the entire process doesn’t seem like a blunder of miscommunication between so many stakeholders. It showed a real lack of consideration for the candidate experience which is unfortunately not uncommon in the current landscape, but still sad. Based on this interaction alone, I believe everything in this or a similar role would be a battle because no one can get on the same page. The only praise I would give would be to Jacob Rosen, the recruiter through the whole process who was charged with rejecting me not once (which again would have been fine), but twice after he was asked to bring me back into consideration and get my hopes up. I know that was a hard job, but he was communicative and as considerate as he could be through the process and shame on the folks who put him in that position. Candidates and Jacob too deserve better.
