I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Grainger in Aug 2011
Interview
Interview consisted of meeting a group of peers and the hiring manager.
Felt OK with the peers; this hiring manager however, seemed to me *the* most superficial, pretentious, and arrogant person I ever encountered. She conveyed no substance other than throwing a few buzz words around in our conversation, with a condescending attitude. The questions themselves were not difficult at all but it was a turnoff for me having to endure such a character for 30 minutes.
I wasn't sure I could ever put up with such a supervisor after the interview. I am glad they didn't offer.
The moral of my experience is that the interviewers are among those who you'd be working with everyday if you get the job. Make sure you feel comfortable associating with them, especially the manager.
