I applied online. I interviewed at GrayMatter Robotics (Gardena, CA) in Sept 2025
Interview
Horrible interview process and extremely no regard or concern for the candidate.
The process dragged on from september till december, with periods where communication is extremely slow. I went through 4 virtual rounds, then was called onsite travelling across the country, for 6 more challenges in person.
For a candidate spending so much time on the process, the expectation is that the company will be professional in their interview conducting process.
I was then informed that everything with my application was good, confirmed my start date as well, and then was told my contract was getting prepared. Then out of the blue I get a call stating that the management informed the team that there was no budget to hire. These kind of budget informations are available beforehand, no business would make such a call at such a last minute and suddenly, or if it was made so suddenly then the management has horrible planning.
The CEO comes across as extremely arrogant in the chat as well. Stay away from this company. He also was schedueld for a background check with a C level executive at my previous company but cancelled the call last minute. This reeks of unprofessionalism and no care for someone else's time.
The engineers are great to speak to but unfortunately it seems C-Suite level management has no consideration or care for people it employs and I am glad I dodged this bullet.

Interview
They did not make a phone call or video interview before the offline challenge. They gave me an offline challange with a 6 hours duration. I have completed it around 4-4.5 hours and my code was working. What happened next is denial. If I completed the offline challenge correctly, why wouldn't you have progress with an interview? If you would reject my application in the first place, why would you give me an offline challenge? They have no respect for job applicants.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at GrayMatter Robotics (Los Angeles, CA) in Jun 2024
Interview
Interviewed for an entry-level role, 8 interviews (includes on-site interviews) just to hear the feedback that "you are less experienced for this role." It took almost 1.5 months to complete the whole process.
