The interview process was normal but there were several interviews to complete with multiple people. During the last interview the managers manger, called me to negotiate a salary.
There was a written agreement between the recruiting firm to find a candidate that would agree to a salary between a specific pay range.
The manager’s manager was pleasant but got directly to the point which was if I were to receive and accept an offer. I would not be offered a salary within the agreed upon range. I was told I must accept something lower than what was within the agreement the recruiting company signed.
If you hire a headhunter for the purpose of finding an employee with specific skills at a certain pay rate. Then once you find your candidate, you tell them you will only pay something lower than the lowest range (out of range, beyond the lower end of the range) then that says something about the company. That action raised several red flags and I declined to move forward or vie for the open position.
Do not attempt to work for a company who does not value your worth before you even start. Move on and find another place.
