The interview process was beyond embarrassingly messy for this company and, at best, woefully unprofessional. After multiple calls, an irrelevant and long assignment, a panel interview and checking one of my references and requesting another, they sent an automatically generated email from Gusto saying I wasn't a good fit.
Why on earth would you check someone's references if it wasn't already decided that they are in fact a good fit for a role?! I can't just depend on references to open their calendar to give references every few weeks - certainly not the caliber of references I provided.
Also, throughout the entire process, it seemed that no one at the company knew exactly what role I was interviewing for. The counselor panel asked a lot of questions about how I counsel students, which I do not do, nor did I ever say I do.
I could go on and on but the bottom line is: avoid this mess of a company. Whatever massive growth they might be planning for, they are not ready for it.
If after reading this you still decide to interview with them, tell them not to request and hold calls with references until they have collected ALL feedback from interviews and the "panel" discussion.
My advice to this company: stop recruiting until you can get yourselves together enough not to waste candidates' time and that of their coveted references.
Hopefully, this review helps someone! This company is an absolute mess.
