I interviewed with the principal and two teachers. We had a good conversation, and I was asked questions about how I felt about basal reading, high-poverty school districts, and other relevant issues. It wasn't clear what subjects I would be teaching, but other than that the job was laid out pretty clearly. I don't remember how many days elapsed between the interview and the offer, but it couldn't have been more than a few days, maybe a week at the most. The offer was more of a conversation with the principal about what I thought of the school and the position and the big new project he was working on for the year than about "You've got the job." I believe he asked what else I needed to know before I accepted. It took a couple of days for us to hammer out the specifics due to his big project, but in the end it worked out perfectly.
