30 minute intro call + 4 rounds of technical interviews - systems design and some live coding.
I only got to the first technical round. Interviewer wasn't at all familiar with my resume and didn't want to hear about my experience.
I briefly described the platform I worked on, and he spent the rest of the time asking me questions about infrastructure and security choices which were not within the scope of my backend team. I explained my understanding of those decisions but couldn't speak to why that team made them, as I was not part of those conversations and was involved entirely in feature design and building out the microservices architecture from a monolith.
I tried directing the conversation back to my experience and projects, unsuccessfully.
We reached the end and I never had a chance to talk about any of my accomplishments or areas of expertise.
I did at least hear back from them a couple weeks later, but was not surprised nor disappointed that they didn't want to move forward.
