I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Guitar Center (Phoenix, AZ) in Jan 2020
Interview
First there's an exam about basic knowledge conducted onsite. Then, hopefully, a manager gets back to you to schedule a single sit-down with themself or whomever they decide. It was very informal, and the manager at the first store I interviewed with stood me up twice. The second store manager was much more respectful.
I applied online. I interviewed at Guitar Center (Fort Collins, CO) in Jan 2021
Interview
Initial conversation with store manager and present repair tech. After they approved, had to take on online technical evaluation that consisted of reasonable "what if" and "how to" questions about instrument repair and maintenance.

Application
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Guitar Center (Winter Park, FL) in Feb 2016
Interview
Met with the Operations Manager, Store Manager, and Repairs Area Coordinator to speak about the job responsibilities and expectations. All were friendly and accommodating and provided an ample amount of information for me to make a decision. The team was welcoming and looks like they work well together as I was waiting for the interview to start.
