I applied for this position with my friend, who wasn't interested in it, just to better prepare myself for HireVue tests using my friend's account. The HireVue assessment included two games (memory and calculation) and interview questions.
When I took the test from my friend's account, I used every advantage possible—writing down number chains for memory tasks, using a calculator for calculations, etc. But for the video interview section, instead of filming myself, I covered my camera with tape and played white noise from youtube. When I took the test from my own account, I, of course, did everything normally, answering the questions properly.
In the end, my friend received a positive response, while I got rejected a few weeks later. 😂
Moral of the story: These HR people don’t care and don’t even watch the video interviews (at least at Gunvor). Low-key glad I didn’t get the job, cause what’s the point of trying to convince an HR manager that you’d be good at a job when they’re bad at theirs?
