      Email Marketing Manager Interview

      29 Jul 2016
      Anonymous employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gusto (San Francisco, CA) in Jun 2016

      Interview

Two phone interviews before a half day onsite. All in all it went really well. The team was very supportive and I felt welcomed instantly. It was also nice that my interviews weren't limited to individuals in my would be department. I met people from Marketing, Operations, Sales, and other focuses so it was easy to get a wholistic view of how employees viewed the company. They did have a "Sneak Peak" project where they had me do a theoretical (but relevant) project that took probably around 4 hours before they brought me onsite.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

      Lots of hypothetical campaign creation
      Answer question

      Question 2

They had me break down what I imagined their KPIs would be and how I would calculate them (some basic math was used here but in all honesty, knowing your basic times tables rarely comes back to hurt you).
