I applied online. I interviewed at H E B in Aug 2020
Interview
There was an online interview in which you record videos of your responses to typical interview questions. I received a call back about 3 days later for an in-store interview, in which I was asked a lot of the same questions as the online video, and was able to ask questions about the position. About a week later, I was called back for a second interview with another manager. This interview seemed like they just wanted to confirm that I was the right fit for overnights. Then I signed an authorization for a background check.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe a time when you faced a difficult task outside of your normal duties, and how you handled it.
Called me in for an interview knowing I had no overnight experience and no stocking experience but declined to give me an offer because of this, or so they say. I would say it's more likely they saw I was short and a little chubby and instantly discriminated against me physically, assuming I could not do the job. Then kicked me over to the Deli guy for an impromptu interview. Both ghosted me afterwards. Honestly pretty unprofessional behavior.

Interview
I applied online and 2 weeks later received a call from a manager for an interview. In my opinion, the interview went well and manager seemed excited for me to join the team. Afterwards, I heard nothing for several days. I called back and was told job was given to an internal applicant.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at H E B (Baytown, TX)
Interview
Pretty easy I got asked all the same questions that you would at any other interview like “describe a time where you had to work as a team” only reason I didn’t get the job is because they wanted someone to work a full 8 hour shift and I just wanted to work 4 max.
