I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at HCLTech (Bengaluru) in Feb 2017
Interview
My serious condolences to the interviewees with HCL technologies. I received multiple calls from recruiting agencies stating my CV has been shortlisted by HCL and I was requested to attend interview.
I rode all the way from Hebbal to Electronic city, Bangalore. Residents of Bangalore can truly understand the pain in reaching these extremes of Bangalore. After 2 hours ride, I reached HCL interview location in Electronic City.
I did submit my resume to concerned POC and I was told to have a seat and they will call me for face-to-face interview.
After sometime, I was called and asked to leave the premises saying skills I possess will not be interviewed. I wanted to question HR for their recklessness of shortlisting CV without going through resumes before and on the day of interview, they made people to leave with dismaying statements.
I seriously pity HCL management for employing these low-standard industry HRs. I will never join HCL nor attend interview. Should you have any ethics leftover, I would suggest you to educate your recruitment teams to treat interviewees professionally. They should spend at least few minutes to go through candidate resumes before shortlisting and inviting to premises.
Shame, shame!

Interview
The interview process involves an application, screening, and assessment stages, culminating in a final interview with questions and answers, a chance for you to ask questions, and a follow-up thank-you note. It assesses your skills, experience, and cultural fit for the role
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at HCLTech
Interview
I recently interviewed for a DevOps Engineer role at HCLTech, and I have to say, the experience was extremely disappointing. The interviewers seemed to come from a different era, as they seemed to expect candidates to memorize everything instead of demonstrating practical knowledge or problem-solving abilities. It felt more like a test of how well you could recall facts rather than how well you could actually perform the tasks required for the role.
What made the experience even worse was the unprofessional and rude attitude of the interviewers. From the very beginning, they acted like they were there to reject you, rather than assess whether you'd be a good fit for the role. It honestly felt like they had already made up their minds about who they wanted to hire and were just going through the motions of interviewing candidates for the sake of reporting to their manager.
Overall, this interview left a negative impression, and I would suggest HCLTech rethink their approach to hiring. A more respectful and engaging interview process focused on actual skills and problem-solving would go a long way in attracting top talent
