      Product Manager Interview

      12 Mar 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Sugar Land, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at HCSS (Sugar Land, TX) in Sept 2011

      Interview

I was referred to HCSS by a friend who used to work there. He described the company as a small business positioning itself to grow bigger. After submitting my resume, I was informed that the company will not look at my profile until I pass a math exam. I was surprised, since I had not expected it for people applying for senior positions and then there were many stories on the internet, mostly on Glassdoor, decrying the whole interview process at HCSS. So with some hesitation, I went ahead to give the test. Seriously, all this fuss from applicants about a 8th grade level test! I am no math wiz, but it took me 30 min to finish the test and review my answers. I guess I did OK on the test since I got called for an interview. The interview itself comprised of meeting executives & my future boss, some 'prove it to me' tasks, some candid conversations. It was challenging but fun. I took the whole process seriously and I got the offer. The whole process, took about 3 weeks. I have now been with the company a few short months, and I am very happy to be here. Just like any growing organization, HCSS also has areas of improvement, but I have not worked at any place that was so employee centric. The organization demands hard work, but rewards you well for it. That, I think is the reason why the interview process is little harder than at most organizations - HCSS wants to hire smart people (who know 8th grade math), want to work hard and want to play hard!

      Interview

I would say it was like a standard interview experience and the interview questions were also standard and this was my first round interview so I expected the questions. The interview was also a really positive experience for me as well.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Sugar Land, TX
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HCSS (Sugar Land, TX) in Oct 2019

      Interview

Went through an outside recruiter who regularly works with HCSS. Had 2 recruiter calls, took the online math test, personality test, phone screen with HCSS HR and then brought onsite for the in person math test and interviews with hiring manager and 2 peers. Was invited for a 2nd round with the hiring manager, an SVP and the CEO/Founder where I found out the job title changed. The CEO was last and it was one of the oddest interviews I've had. He is a flamboyant Trump supporter with a framed handshake picture, but his questions had nothing to do with the role and it was a very dissonant conversation. It was so odd and different from every other interaction I had, I wouldn't have left my current job if offered.

      Product Manager Interview

      15 Sept 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Remote, OR
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at HCSS (Remote, OR) in Sept 2017

      Interview

Analytical test and then telephonic, they asked about the previous work experience and before that there was a analytical test to solve. I find it very slow mean the interview was all about asking what i did in past which was already mentioned in my resume.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Asked about past work experience that is it !
