1st round was taken flocareer where all technical topics were covered.
After this 2nd round of interview was conducted with hdfc bank itself. Again technical questions from java, data structure, database,spring boot,Kafka,design patterns were covered.
After selecting in 2nd round, I was asked to have face to face interview with manager as a third round and thereafter there was one more round left with hr.
I agreed and travelled 250kms to have this discussion with manager without having an idea about a very big surprise.
That manager calls other guy(not a manager and not much experienced as well) and handed over to him to start.
This guys starts asking very basics of java(which I believe could have been asked in 2nd round itself) and the manager leaves by saying I am coming.
The interview process was over in just 15 mins but manager still didn't come joined back with whom I was actually supposed to get interviewed.
The guy who was taking my interview asks me to wait and he also leaves.
After a few mins,he comes back and I was told to leave(sounded very unprofessional and disrespectful) but I cross checked and asked no more rounds? He further confirmed,yes no more rounds. Hr will coordinate with you.
I said ok and left. I immediately called hr to check what was going on? Why even I am being called ? She asked me if I had cleared technical doubts with him and after listening the entire stuff,she asked me to wait at reception area meanwhile she was trying to contact that manager.
Again I get another call from different hr who just asked me to leave and when I said I got call from hr and she told me to wait. She further confirmed that yes I just had a word with her only before calling you.
I said ok and I still cross checked with hr again and after getting confirmation I left.
After crossing the 2 towers and reaching to my car,parked outside, I received call from hr and asked me to go back again to have a discussion with manager. Here I had already lost my patience but somehow I put a hold and went again but informed her that I have another interview scheduled after 25 mins,I need to attend to. She said ok,you'll get free before that.
After reaching to reception area @ 2:30,I was asked to wait for that manager who was busy in taking other interviews. It sounded very unprofessional and disrespectful as they really didn't have any respect about other' time who have already spent 7hrs and still waiting to get interviewed. After waiting a very long,for almost 1 hr, I was called when that manager got free and he started discussing about the areas I have worked and the work they are doing,how they are building the team right now from very scratch etc etc. finally I got free and left @4 .
Hr messaged again whether the process was right this time,did the manager explain everything to you. I said yes and checked for feedback,I was told to wait untill the next day.
I waited and next evening I was told the feedback is negative and it's put on hold but she said it's not rejected just on hold.
I literally don't believe that happened with me which I never experienced in my entire career of 13 yrs.
Totally wastage of time with such unprofessional people.
If I give a benefit of doubt that it might be some technical stuff expectations which I wasn't upto but it's really very hard to digest when I look back on the guy who took my interview and I am still wondering if that guy was really qualified to take interview?
Was that manager even qualified or knew something about Java? If not,was that the reason he left me to be interviewed from another random guy whose skill was also doubtful?
Is this the future of #hdfc bank's development?
Advising you all to be aware of this and don't waste your time at all.
If they ask you to come for f2f round with manager ,ask them to take all the rounds first virtually,if they approve thn go for last discussion f2f with that manager who is really very unprofessional and just chills in the office.
