Case of interviewer saying one thing and hiring manager saying the opposite. Recruiter called Friday afternoon to set up interview with yet another recruiter for the next week. I had to contact that original recruiter the following week to get a day and time for the second recruiter to do the screening interview. The second recruiter who did the phone screening went ok. She said she would find out if I could work onsite 5 days a week. Then she asked about interview times and days to talk with the hiring manager via Teams. I talked with the hiring manager that Friday and he said the job is all remote because the government agency does not have enough room to put people in their office. I think it is strange that the government agency would hiring people when it does not have any space for them to work. The interview did not go well as a result of the difference between what the screening recruiter said and what the hiring manager said. However, it was nice to get a job interview with the company since I have been applying there for over a year.
