I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Halliburton (Houston, TX) in Feb 2010
Interview
The presentation was good and by the time I went to the back room for my interview I was ready to go to work for Halliburton. When I got in the interview room there were 3 coordinators and myself. They seemed to have already made up their minds who they were going to hire and I was not one of the hirees. Because of this I could tell that they were just going through the motions. One of the interviewers was pretty much an ass and tried to find any excuse to not hire me. I had a good experience up until the actual interview.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
You've worked in an office for some time. What makes you think you would be able to make the transition from the office to the field?
You live 6 hours away from Houston and are close to where a lot of our work is, but when you're done with each job, you'll have to drive your ass all the way to Houston and then drive all the way back home. Doesn't this bother you?
Easy comin
In comparison to my peers, who often rely on memory, I follow a structured list for every step of our operations, ensuring that everything is filled out correctly and that each step logically leads to the next. This meticulous approach has been beneficial in maintaining the quality and consistency of our work, and I am confident that it will continue to contribute positively in a single MWD role.

Interview
Process included a technical phone screen (drilling concepts, tool knowledge), followed by a panel interview with field scenarios and safety questions. Practical problem-solving and teamwork focus. Delays in scheduling, but interviewers were supportive and industry-experienced.
