      Financial Center Leader II Interview

      28 Jan 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Thibodaux, LA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I interviewed at Hancock Whitney Bank (Thibodaux, LA)

      Interview

Spoke with and met with District Sales Manager as well as District Operations Manager. Went over my work experience and discussed, "In x situation, how did you respond" questions. They seemed like the initial salary offer I made was agreeable and within range. Had two more interviews and was offered $25k/yr less with no room for negotiation. The pay is under the median for this locations history and I have over 10 years of management/financial/sales management experience but I was told they value Retail Banking Experience and without that specifically, I cannot negotiate.

Thank you for taking the time to share your interview experience and for considering a career with Hancock Whitney. We appreciate the openness of your feedback. At Hancock Whitney, our greatest investment is in our people. By fostering growth, encouraging teamwork, and providing opportunities to succeed, we’re not just building dreams, we’re building futures. That commitment includes being transparent and thoughtful in how we assess experience, skills, and role alignment throughout our hiring process. We recognize that compensation discussions can be challenging, especially when candidates bring extensive leadership and financial experience. For certain roles, specific industry or functional experience, such as retail banking can play a significant role in how positions are scoped and compensated, and we understand how this may not have aligned with your expectations in this case. While we regret that this opportunity did not work out, we genuinely appreciate the time and effort you invested in the process. We wish you continued success and encourage you to explore future opportunities with us that may better align with your background and career goals.
