      Senior Product Analyst Interview

      21 Apr 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Handshake in Apr 2022

      Interview

Applied for the role through LinkedIn and was contacted by one of the recruiters. Since I was actively interviewing, I submitted by availability as soon as I received the email. I was left without a response for 4-5 days post which an initial screening call took place. Again, no response for over a week post which I was contacted about the next step: an interview with the hiring manager. I gave my availability promptly. An interview was scheduled(5 days from the day I got the confirmation). Eager to give my best, I did my background work on the firm. I thought of possible ways I would improve things given a chance to work with them. Less than a day from the interview, I just get a generic mail from the recruiter saying “the role has been filled and they enjoyed getting to know me.” How is the firm even “student centric” when their own hiring practices are so opposed to transparency and a sheer waste of candidates time and effort?! If you have ANY options at all, avoid this place.

      Senior Product Analyst Interview

      25 Jan 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Handshake in Sept 2021

      Interview

Recruiter reached out to me and was very helpful in setting up calls quickly as I was genuinely interested to work on the product and there seemed to be a mutual fit. Recruiter screen was usual. Background, skills cross check, team structure and role expectations, compensation expectations from both sides. HM screen, 4 virtual onsite rounds. Enjoyed talking with all of them. I got the feeling that they also felt the same. Recruiter reached out to me saying that I KILLED it and team really loved talking to me. Recruiter event went ahead and discussed offer numbers with me. I was looking forward to the offer letter as I had really loved chatting with the HM and the team. Then things went totally south. 2-3 days later recruiter reached back out saying would I be interested in talking to another team to see if there might be a fit as well. I said yes, just to understand what other options are there. Talked to the VP for that team, feedback was good. Recruiter reached back out saying that they would really like me to talk to this other team but they did not seem to have any process set and wanted me to talk to unknown number of people. When I requested how many more interviews, I got no concrete answer and was told- "If I dont want to talk to this team, then there is no offer". Really? Who does that to a candidate who "KILLED" the interviews. I stopped communication with the recruiter. I am pretty sure they will know who I am after reading the interview. Whoever is setting up these interview practices, STOP wasting people's time if you are not sure who to hire at what level. Hope they found a good fit as the team members I spoke with, were all seemed great bunch of people.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

HM screen: Product sense and typical SQL questions. Virtual Onsite: A couple of case study rounds. Stakeholder and values rounds
