I applied online. I interviewed at Hansen Technologies
Interview
Applied for a senior leadership role at Hansen Technologies and was contacted almost immediately by their Global Executive Search Lead, including weekend emails and an interview arranged the following Monday. The conversation was highly enthusiastic, focused heavily on urgent operational issues and escalations inside the business, and gave every impression that the company was eager to move quickly.
After setting extremely strong expectations, communication then deteriorated into vague delays and eventually complete silence until I followed up myself repeatedly. For a company claiming to hire senior operational leadership, the process felt surprisingly disorganized and unprofessional.
Ironically, after hearing so much about the need to improve escalations and operational maturity, the recruitment process itself demonstrated many of the same issues: poor communication, lack of ownership, and weak follow-through.
A disappointing experience, especially from a senior executive search Guy who should know better.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The discussion focused heavily on operational escalations, customer dissatisfaction, and the need to bring structure and accountability into a struggling support organization. It was also openly stated that there was an incumbent in the role who was not considered capable of handling the situation effectively, which made the urgency and expectations around the position very clear.
I applied through other source. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Hansen Technologies (London, England) in Feb 2026
Interview
Internal headhunter reached out. Bullish. Informal chat. Progressed. Due to set up meeting with the CEO but business commitments meant didn't happen. Awaited further update after specifically being told to expect such.

Interview
Recruiter is based in Australia. He was good and tried to organise interviews as quickly as possible.
I attended 1 initial screening and 2 rounds of interviews. The first interview with the hiring manager went well. Second interview was with the panel and they seemed to be disconnected from the problems hiring manager was trying to solve with this role.
Long story short, they gave me a vague reason for not moving ahead.
