Interview
It was a good interview. I really like the questions that they asked. It really allowed me to see how the clothing industry thought. I was a big fan of the location as well and I though that
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Harry Rosen (Toronto, ON) in Apr 2015
Interview
Went to Starbucks to have this meeting. Whole meeting is professional and friendly. Just ask some normal question, like regular conversation. does not feel like it is an interview. I guess they want to know more about your personality instead of skill. Since skill can be learn but not the personality.
I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Harry Rosen (Vancouver, BC)
Interview
I contacted the managing director of Harry rosen on linkedin and told him about my background and how I would like to work at Harry rosen.
The only good thing was that he actually replied and agreed to meet up. So I was called at the store in Pacific mall to chat about any opportunities they may be looking to fill. I had a very long chat with him that lasted about 90 minutes about my degree what I learnt in school and how Im going to use my skills for the job. The interview ended at a very good note by him saying he will connect me with the store manager who will chat with me about the actual position and the HR to email me a few personality tests that I had to do online for them to assess.
A few days later the store manager called me and asked me to come back to the store to meet up. He had the results to my personality test and discuseed how I would be a good fit to his team. He spoke to me about specific brands in store that i could potentially work in. He asked me what my preferred start date would be to which I told him I am travelling for a week next week and can start right after that. The meeting ended with him telling me that he is going to ask HR to prepare my onboarding paperwork and will get back as soon as I am back from my vacation.
4 to 5 days later I got an email from the HR that they decided to move ahead with another candidate to which I was furious but kept my cool and messaged the Manager for any feedback that I could use for any future opportunities and they never replied.
Thank you very much for sharing your feedback and I'm so sorry that this occurred. I can assure you that what you've described is far from typical in our environment and we'll certainly take steps to ensure that what took place is not repeated.
