I applied for a Business Associate position and almost instantly got a request for a phone interview which went very well. The interviewer then set up a face to face interview with the local hiring manager. I thought the interview went extremely well and a job offer seemed promising. The hiring manager was so excited about the experience I brought to the practice, my personality traits which fits perfectly with the rest of the team, and my ability to cross train. She went on about how I could grow with the company and she could definitely see me working my way into a practice manager roll. She ended the interview with saying she would be in touch and I should expect a call by the end of the week, but I never heard another word. I did follow up and still got silence.
If the interview had gone poorly or just average I wouldn't have been surprised by the silence. But the practice manager's excitement over my experience, growth potential, and proceeding to introduce me to each member of the team, along with the promise to be in touch left a very poor taste for the company.
