Interview
I did all steps online, as I was living in Brazil at the time.
My interview consisted in four steps:
1) Phone interview with HR manager.
Mostly to get to know me better, and also so I could ask questions about the company.
2) Code test to be sent within a deadline.
They sent me a GitHub repository with a task to be done. It was a fairly simple task but it required some time. After that I had to send the resulting code to review via pull request.
A company employee reviewed the code in about a week.
3) Interview with one of HF's directors of engineering.
Mostly to get to know me better technically. Lots of questions about my previous positions and current aspirations.
4) Interview with CTO.
It looked a lot like the interview with the director of engineering, but to be fair the CTO warned me in the beginning that it might happen.

Interview
I had a first HR screening interview, and unfortunately, it was a highly disappointing experience. From the very beginning, the HR representative mentioned he wouldn’t be turning on the camera, which immediately affected our communication. Following his suggestion, I also turned mine off. This was my first experience with an HR interview where both parties had their cameras off, and it made it incredibly difficult to focus on the conversation. As a result, the interview did not go well.
The HR representative asked a series of repetitive and irrelevant behavioral questions, almost like a robot reading from a script, which didn't feel tailored to the conversation at all. The notes during the interview were taken by an AI bot, further distancing any human connection in the process.
To add to that, he also said that the company expects employees to work from the office three days a week, which didn’t align with my expectations, so I wasn’t too disappointed when the interview outcome was negative.
This has been my only HR interview rejection.

Take home coding test - I didn't even attempt because it sounded ridiculous
Who even does take home assignments anymore? Such a waste of time to expect candidate spend hours on their free time while having a full time job to get response back "you didn't follow best practices"
