Phone screen w/recruiter went well; ~30 min conversation about skills and experience. Recommended I move onto the next phase; a virtual interview w/hiring manager.
Virtual interview was a little rough in terms of structure/timing, but went ok. Hiring manager had the predecessor for the position on the meeting, which was not expected and awkward. The hiring manager then left the interview halfway through due to "double booking" of meetings; leaving me with the predecessor.
The predecessor was nice and easy to talk to, and did provide great insight into the position and expectations, so it worked out. I asked about work/life balance, which seemed to derail the conversation a bit. Long story short - I wasn't interested in working 60+ hour weeks, and the person pretty much confirmed they did that, plus some.
I was rejected for the role when I followed up within a week as told to.
