      Direct Marketing Communications Coordinator Interview

      3 Jun 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Islington, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Hero Corp (Islington, England) in Apr 2017

      Interview

Something very strange is going on there, I think they've been filling out fraudulent reviews on Glassdoor because this place, and the way they interview, is extraordinarily odd. Never been to anything like it in my life. Loud dance music played whilst you sit in large groups on sofas in a run down building that does not belong to the company themselves. Names not appearing to be marked off on lists or database when you arrive, I was told once I had filled out my form, I would be having a short interview with the company director... I left.

Thanks for your feedback. We always appreciate the chance to improve. Let me put your mind at rest and answer some of your issues directly. Firstly, as regards our reviews on Glassdoor, it's not possible for us to create 'fraudulent reviews'. Glassdoor is one of the most highly respected review sites for this very reason. They have strict systems and structures in place that make sure we receive a fair rating. So the same system that means you can give us a negative review and we can't just have it removed, makes sure that we can't just add reviews here ourselves. However, we're not here to defend Glassdoor's systems. Your review is a little confusing to us. We noticed that you said that the way we interviewed was odd, however, you didn't actually even wait for your first interview. From what we can tell you were put off by certain aspects of our office space, so we'll address those. Although I know it may appear a little unorthodox to someone who is used to a more traditional setting, shared office space is not uncommon in this day and age. In fact, among new businesses, it is becoming the norm. 40% of workers in 2017 are working in shared office spaces, and of that group, 92% report higher job satisfaction. As for the music, we certainly don't play music all the time, but it is a common feature of our office environment, and we think it contributes to a more relaxed and fun workspace. We do understand that this isn't for everyone, and we hope you find something that is more suited to your own personal work style. Best of luck.
