Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1. Why do you want to work at Heron?
2. What are you looking for in your next role?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Heron Data (London, England) in Oct 2025
Interview
It was a clear interview process with 3 stages:
1. Initial chat (20 mins) - Just to understand motivations around moving roles and what you're looking for in your next role
2. A PR review style interview (1 hour) - I worked with one other interviewer on a PR to talk through good things and improvements, and then spent a bit of time adding to the PR
3. Final round broken down into 4 ~45 minute interviews. The first two focussed on system design and looking into the design of a previous project, one was a more culture fit style interview and finally a chat with someone from the C-Suite.
All interviewers were super friendly and communication and coordination throughout the process was extremely clear! The process seemed to mimic what the actual work environment would be like which I really enjoyed - didn't feel like I needed to jump through hundreds of hoops or leetcode problems to succeed.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Heron Data (London, England) in Sept 2025
Interview
First a technical screen by an engineer at the company, followed by 3 in-person interview sessions covering systems design, previous technical projects and culture fit. Final round was an interview with the CEO. All interviews were held with senior engineers/management at the company
