I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Hi-Line (Wichita, KS) in Sept 2024
Interview
Started with calling the phone they listed on the application page. Talked to the hiring manager who asked me to submit my resume he also put me in touch with the District sales manager for the district I applied to, We talked for a while got some questions answered and moved to the next step which involved some pretty intense testing. After that I talked with a gal doing the job that I would be doing and had a chance to really get to know better what kind of work the day to day would be, The following week I talked with both the DSM for my territory and another DSM I think for a nearby region. They liked my test results and had me fill out some more paperwork for an extended interview. After that they had submitted paperwork their territory manager experience which as I understood is kinda like a job shadow to see if you align with what they do. Unfortunately management then declined to proceed with the experience as I had no former sales experience. I was really dissapointed in that answer because the job application and everyone I talked to indicated that no sales experience was not a barrier and in fact they offer some exceptional training. It mentioned more than once that this role was more of a customer service with a side of sales which they could teach. Anyway I thank the many people that took so much time to have detailed conversations with me and just ask management to be more transparent with both the application and the managers about expectations in terms of sales experience.
They rely too much on online assessments without talking to candidates. A lot of information was requested and it stated assessments were not used to make a hiring decision but they did not obtain any additional information to make a decision. No phone calls were ever made.

Interview
Fairly casual in a hotel lobby. Interviewer was a company family member and former pastor. Unfortunately, he read me completely wrong. I would have been a great company representative and have since started a successful estate sale business where I have cleaned homes following four generations of family members living there. You couldn't even walk into the garage. When the house and garage were prepped for sales, the customer couldn't believe how well we had straightened the place up in a week.
