I interviewed at Hidden Hearing (UK) (Buxton, East Midlands, England)
Interview
Telephone interview followed by what was being called recruitment open day. Open day was more like an assessment centre where there was an exam on Hidden Hearing 5 psychometric exams and a personality type assessment this was followed by a group exercise and a short presentation to be given to video camera on why you want the role. Large numbers of people attended the recruitment day despite a lot of the positions already been filled by internal applicants or previously decided prior to open day. This became clear when talking to others at the centre. This meant that for a lot of the candidates in attendance there was no actual job available yet still had to attend with an overnight stay. In all it was a pleasant experience just a waste of time
We took on board the comment that the recruitment open day seemed more like an assessment centre and when we ran a similar event in September 2018 we clearly communicated the assessment nature of the event. The experience from the candidates perspective has led to a positive change in our process.
