I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at HighTech Passport (San Jose, CA)
Interview
The initial communication was very efficient and led to a panel interview in the office for a specific date and time. Eventually High Tech Passport rep. changed the date twice by email. Once I got to the office I waited 45 minutes and I was moved 3 times to accommodate other meetings. No panel was organized, instead I had to go from office to office with waiting time in between. I spent a total of 3 hours at High Tech Passport office instead of the planned 45 minutes. Most of the employees are international which made it very welcoming. The people I interviewed with however lacked the friendly vibes and the soft skills which is a must in this field. Also the layout of the office is not pleasant.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I found their team to be very disorganized and very intrusive with their questions. Instead of testing me on case scenarios, they were actually looking for insights on companies I had worked for in the recent past. As part of the hiring process, they sent me a very simple language proficiency test with a few linguistic typos in the source files. This made me wonder if they proofread their work at all. Four weeks later, they sent me an email stating the translation was not good enough. I was perplex by this and asked them to forward the reviewer's notes. They never replied. I found the whole experience very unprofessional.
