I applied online. I interviewed at Hilcorp Energy (Houston, TX)
Interview
Interview process was a phone screen with HR, followed by a virtual interview on Teams with the hiring manager. Questions were typical of an interview for a job in this field.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Hilcorp Energy (Houston, TX) in Nov 2025
Interview
Never had an initial screening; it was straight to an in-person interview 2 days after a call from HR saying they reviewed my application and wanted me to come in. It was three 30 minute interviews in a small conference room each with 1 person all in a row: a sr manager, a supervisor and a lead. All 3 interviewers were 10 minutes late, ran over their segment of time (ending in the middle of a sentence), acted like they didn’t want to be there and each person read from the same script. To top it off, only 1 of the 3 interviewers was competent enough to even understand what the role they were hiring for did.
When you have interviewers that set the tone of being late and not wanting to be there the interview is DOA for the candidate as well and it speaks volumes of the Hilcorp culture.
It’s been 3 months since my in-person interview and my application is still under review in workday. No responses to follow ups from candidates, no updates, no offer, no decline, just silence and absolutely no respect whatsoever.
Professionalism may not exist at Hilcorp.
