The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Hollister Co. (Portland, OR) in Jan 2011
Interview
It was a group interview and I felt super confident because of all my research done the night before. The interview took place in the middle of the store (in front of the cash register) seating area. There was 3 other people besides myself. I definitely felt great about myself. I knew one girl, one girl barely talked, and the boy was cool. The lady who interviewed us asked a series of questions. Sometimes in random order. I think I did too much research because I knew all my answers. She even mentioned how do I know all this. I said friends.. Lying. Lol. I heard they judge how you look and what not. I didn't get offered a position so it made me feel ugly. Also wear hollister! Flip flops! Trendy. Don't over talk but stand out.
A common question asked in group interview settings is, “What does diversity mean to you?” It's a foundational topic that allows candidates to express their understanding of inclusion, equity, and respect for different perspectives. This question often opens up dialogue around how individuals value unique backgrounds, experiences, and identities in the workplace. It's not just about race or gender—it encompasses cultural, generational, and even cognitive differences. Employers use this to gauge how someone might contribute to a supportive and collaborative environment where everyone feels seen and heard.
The interview was a group interview but it was very easy. Everyone answered the same questions. I applied and was offered an interview within the same week. They choose who they like. Not difficult just don't be weird. There lost their sheen recently though so you should be fine if you don't fit the mold. Is there not 30 words yet this is ridiculous I don't know if I can trust this site
