I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Hollister Co. in May 2010
Interview
One on one interview with the District Manager where they will explain the benefits of this job and ask you a few questions but really the point of this interview is to see if you are good looking enough to work for them. Wear dark skinny jeans, white top navy sweater if you are a chick, and a navy polo if you are a dude. Don't wear make up to the interview or very very natural.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I can't remember. Just stuff like have you worked in a group and what happened. How do you feel if things aren't going your way.
I think these were the questions when I took the interview online
Why are you interested in working in retail, specifically the Abercrombie & Fitch, Abercrombie Kids, Hollister, and Gilly Hicks brands?
Tell me about a time you had to deal with a challenging customer/teammate/classmate etc. How did you react? What was the outcome?
What is one of your favorite fashion trends right now? How would you recommend a customer outfit that trend?
What are you most proud of? And what drove you to achieve it?
What has been the hardest you've ever had to work? How did you handle it? What did you achieve?
Tell me about a time you received some challenging feedback? How did you take it? What did you do with it?
Tell me about a time you had to do something that wasn't your responsibility to benefit the whole?
If offered this position, what future plans, if any, do you have that would require you leave?
Follow up application with a phone call to the store manager. Then the district manager reached out to set up an interview. Did one interview with the district manager at a different store location.
I had three interviews of the course of 2 weeks. One with a recruiter, then the general manager, and then a simple coffee chat with the store manager. It was very relaxed and not something I had to intensely prepare for.
