I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at HomeSense in Jun 2014
Interview
I applied online in the spring, end of June I received a phone call wanting to know if I would be interested in an interview. Interviewed two days later, on Friday. The hiring manager was so sweet and friendly and explained everything to me. They hire lots of students but if you're a student, try to have one or two weekdays where you have full daytime availability (she said some students complain about the lack of shifts but it's only because they all have the same availability time.) After going through the questions, I gave her two letters of reference (not required!) and the referencees' phone numbers. She said she would call them on Monday. Got a call on Tuesday telling me I was hired. Had to go back to the store to drop off the physical application form because I had applied online and they needed the form for their records.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
"Tell me about a time when you noticed a safety haazard and what did you do about it?"
"When was a time when you and your boss disagreed about something?"
"Tell me about a time when you had to deal with an angry customer."
"Tell me about a time when your boss made a mistake and what you did about it."
"Tell me about your most stressful day and how you dealt with it."
"Do you have a preference as to where you work (warehouse, cashier or sales floor)?"
"What was your favourite part about your last job?"
"Tell me a bit about your previous 3 experiences and the main tasks of those jobs."
Basically, a LOT of scenario questions but they let you think about it or let you come back to a question later if nothing comes to mind.
Great easy interview the recruiter was very welcoming. They asked about 6 questions and most were just about your past experiences. Then the speak about the role in detail and ask for your availability.

Applied through their website, then received an over the phone chat about availability and to set a date for interview.
