I had a phone screening and then two in-person panel interviews that were held on the same day back-to-back. Everything was scheduled pretty quickly which gave the impression they were looking to fill the position sooner rather than later. After the panel interviews I was also asked to complete two assignments related to the type of work I'd be expected to do. I found everyone to be very kind and personable. The assignments were reasonable. Interview questions were average and were related to my experience and aspirations.
A few weeks after my interview they touched base to thank me for my patience and let me know they would be wrapping up interviews and making a decision soon. Another month passed and I followed up with two of the folks I had spoken with, but both e-mails went unanswered. I received an automated rejection 11 weeks after the interviews / assignments were completed. Honestly, it left me feeling very negatively about Houston Methodist. Given how much time I had invested in the interview process, particularly with the additional assignments, I would have greatly appreciated hearing from the hiring manager directly instead of being ghosted. It felt very impersonal. I hope Houston Methodist improves the process in the future.
