This is on par with startup culture but the reality is that Hubble doesn’t know what it needs from those interviewing in this role. This process was extremely painful (10 interviews with a mix of virtual and in-person). Several (last minute) rounds of interviews due to conflicting priorities, focus, and expectations. Many of the interviews felt redundant, same questions, and no clear idea of where this department is going. This is what they are hiring, but everyone has a different interpretation of what this role should be.
They want a first CS hire that will be a mix of skills and seniority (Director level hire with mix of technical CSM). Process culminated in an offer that was reduced to another lower position and when a counter was made, the offer was pulled.
Overall be very careful of proceeding here so you aren’t set up to fail.
