IEH Laboratories & Consulting Group interview questions

Very quick and basic interview about my education and work experience. They asked for my references after a 1 round, 15 minute interview. They called the references the next day, then ghosted me. After a week of no contact, I emailed them to ask about the process. It was only then that they revealed the position had been filled. If I never reached out, would they have even remembered they called my references and had me in the middle of an interview process? I asked if they had any feedback, and they again ghosted me.

It was a phone call verifying my background and purpose for interviewing. Second interview was with the manager. This wants me to have a minimum set of words but it really wasn't in depth
