I applied online. I interviewed at IKEA (Atlanta, GA) in Apr 2019
Interview
I had a scheduled phone interview at 1:30 because that was the exact time I would be available to talk and near my phone. I was called at 1:24, 1:25, and again at 1:27 and didn't realize it until I grabbed my phone at 1:29 to await the call.
I wasn't expecting to be called prior to the scheduled time. When I called the interviewer back at exactly at 1:30, she had a attitude. Her entire energy was off like she didn't even want to interview me anymore and like she already formed preconceived notions.
Towards the end she asked if I had any questions and seemed shocked and flabbergasted when I did. I asked if there were career advancement opportunities, and she told me I could work my way up to the kitchen or cash register positions... Those positions would be demotions not advancements within the company. As a recent college graduate with a high gpa, multiple honors, and an impressive resume, I was taken back and insulted.
I had more questions for her regarding the environment of IKEA and the job tasks of this specific role, but she seemed in a rush and over the interview. She said she would forward my information to the hiring manager and get back to me. But she never did. Almost 2 weeks later, I saw the position re-posted online without any updates or communication... Very disheartening, as I was extremely enthusiastic about working for IKEA prior to this interview.
Had to do an entire day of interview in person, with three assignments (one at home before the interview, one group, and one individual). They offered to give feedback after they rejected me. I didn't get one when I asked for it.
