I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at IKEA (Ciudad de Mexico) in Apr 2020
Interview
The first email I received after the application was a sentence asking me how much I was expecting to earn... that is it. I replied and from then, I basically had to chase them down to continue the "process", it was a period of around 4 weeks, then I was finally contacted and the interview went pretty well, and I was told I was going to hear back of the next steps. After probably 3 weeks, I wrote to ask how the process was going and I got an automatic message saying that they would go for other candidates, which is fine, but it was an automatic message that it was clear to me it is typically sent when you have just applied, not when you already started a recruitment process. The message was a non reply. I can only assume it was due to salary, and I find that quite worrying giving that my salary range completely matches the expertise needed for the role. I am writing this review because I love Ikea and I feel that your recruitment process should be better as it is a representation of your brands and can directly affect how your current and future customers here in Mexico. It is fine to be rejected, but be aware that looking for jobs is hard and if already started a process with someone, give them the proper follow up, no matter what the final decision is.

I applied online. I interviewed at IKEA (Budapest) in Feb 2019
Interview
The whole process was very easy-going as much as a job interview could be. The staff was very friendly it was a really good experience. The only issue was they postponed the interview three times.
Seven of us have been invited to a group interview. We had two group exercises. First exercise was to setup a business with two different shops/services and make a business plan. For the second exercise we received a list of employees with a short brief about them like salary, personal informations, information about their performance, etc. The company was under transformation and we have to chose one employee to keep and promote and one to fire.
Each of us has to explain what we should have done different at the end of the exercises if anything.
Two guys from the HR were monitoring and made notes during the whole process.
The third exercise was 1-to-1 after a break.
