I completed the first round of interviews, including a one-on-one virtual meeting with my potential supervisor. At the conclusion of the interview, I was told I would hear back the following week regarding next steps. When I did not receive any update, I sent a follow-up email and was told I should hear something soon. Unfortunately, no further communication followed.
Since then, I have sent two additional follow-up emails and have not received a response. The lack of communication has been extremely frustrating. While I understand that hiring processes can take time and priorities can shift, it only takes a moment to provide candidates with an update, even if the decision is that they will not be moving forward. Professional communication and courtesy throughout the hiring process are important, and the absence of any response after multiple follow-ups has been disappointing.
